A New Jersey woman reportedly was exercising at a gym in Manhattan, New York. When she left the premises, she was partially blind.

Elizabeth Lapp was exercising at the Club 7 gym. She was using an exercise band when it smacked her in the face. Ms. Lapp was using the stretch band for the first time. She was instructed to sit down, put the band beneath her foot, and pull it toward her. All of a sudden, the band whipped her in the face.

There are many videos posted on youtube showing how accidents with the band occur and why. The lawsuit names the Club 7 gym and the resistance band manufacturer, Black Mountain Products, as defendants.
