The US Consumer Product Safety Commission (“CPSC”) announced on October 2, 2012 Kubota’s voluntary recall of its RTV500 off-road utility vehicles.
The CPSC reported that carbon monoxide can accumulate in the vehicle’s cab while the engine is idling, resulting in potential carbon monoxide poisoning.
Kubota, which is based in Gainesville, Georgia, has received two complaints of personal injuries related to the issue.
The affected vehicles were sold from September 2008 through April 2012 at Kubota dealers nationwide. Kubota estimates that 970 vehicles are affected by the recall.
Kubota is asking its customers to contact the company to have their vehicle repaired free of charge.
