“Pepsi Special,” a carbonated soft drink containing a fat-reducing natural fiber known as dextrin, was recently released to commercial markets in Japan.
The new drink, which is reportedly being marketed for young, health-conscious men, was released for consumption by consumers in Japan this past Tuesday, marking the company’s first attempt at entering the healthy soda market.
The soda’s main ingredient, dextrin, allegedly helps reduce fat levels in the human body.
There is no word at this time on whether the product actually does what it purports to do, and there is no word yet on whether Pepsi will release the product into other markets, including the United States.
